Can You Imagine

Drill here; drill now. We can drill our way to prosperity. Necessity is the mother of invention — of this there is no doubt. Where is Ronald Reagan when we need him? The vision is the thing! Try this one!
While the US economy is racked with deflation in housing, inflation in oil and a declining dollar, we live in self imposed political crisis. We are hostage to the intransigent left and the ideologically anti-growth driven environmental Luddites.
But, suppose the United States enters the global oil markets with both feet by allowing unlimited exploration and refinement of oil within the United States and its land options at sea and elsewhere. What would happen?
The answer is simple. It would unleash the greatest period of economic prosperity in human history. The price of oil would fall to $25 per barrel or less. The housing crisis would be solved. Private property would expand and Americans would be free on the highways and byways to travel at the speeds and safety that modern technology allows. War in the Middle East would become an afterthought and Islamic Terrorism would become ineffectual. International commerce would alleviate the problems of the Third World and halcyon days would reign all over the globe.
You see here is the problem for the politician. Just below the surface is a global expansion in markets and free trade that threatens the ability of political leaders to control and regulate markets and hence populations. And the politicians sense this with great fear and are especially keen to guard their powers jealously.
But, it is too late. Just as capitalism has defeated Communism in Europe and Asia, it is about to defeat anti-growth political Luddites in the USA. When the lid blows in the next three years there will be no turning back. All that is needed is for each of us to realize that we need to tell politicians to stand aside and let the markets work for us. We have all the politicians and Government employees we will ever need. A return to freedom is an unfettered return to prosperity. The possibilities are endless if we just have vision once again, instead of leftist archaic rhetoric.
